Pumpfest
Okay this is weegee’s first entry to np climber’s blog.. Hehe well I’m going to present to you the pumpfest results and overview.
How does pumpfest work? It is a bouldering competition. Well climbers are categorize into Boys/Girls then each gender in to novice/open. Novice categories are for climbers with less than 1 year experience. Then open is for great experience climbers (DUH?!).
Climbers have 4 routes to complete. It is a world cup style with isolation, thus climber cannot view their route till their turn to climb.
After so long of explanation, here comes the RESULT!
Ngee Ann rockclimbing team has sent out 7 boys and 2 girls.
Guys
Jonathan Hwa,
Jonathan Chong,
Joel,
Yide,
Sherman,
Shaun,
Roziman,

Wei Ling
Jonathan Hwa(Our great president) had also done the school proud for coming in first runner up in the Novice category. Also,’PumpFest’ 07 was his second bouldering competition and he had achieved such remarkable results.Well done!
GOOD JOB FOR EVERYONE TOO!
Next competition will be Climberprix, holding at Singapore Polytechnic. It is also a bouldering competition. Our climbers had been training very hard. They have been training 4 days a week. 3 days climbing 1 day PT! Hope to see good result(:

Level 1 Course
Those of you who do not have your Level 1 Cert and are interested in getting it, ARC is organizing one soon. Reply to 'npclimbers@gmail.com' if you are interested.
Thank you!
NISCC and Climbaprix
We were aiming for NISCC as the competition of the year which is on the 23-25 Nov. However, since there would only be speed competition this year, it would be a very unfair comparison as we would be pitched against experienced speed climbers.
Thus, we are changing the competition we are aiming for to 'Climbaprix' (Organized by SP) which would be held on the 27 Oct.
This gives us another 2 weeks to get ourselves prepared both mentally as well as physically. Time is short, so work hard and work smart.
Team members, please be present for ALL trainings unless with valid reasons.
Other club members who are interested in the trainings can refer to the forum:
Thank you and all the best!=)

Competitive Team Selections
Competitive training will start on the 25th of August, at 1045 hours, SAFRA Yishun.
The competitive team selections will be an ongoing process. That means that all are welcome to join the competitive training. Subsequently, we will then pick out those for the Team during the competitive trainings. This selection process may take 1-2 months.
So for those of you who still want to make the team, we'll have to see you turn up for the upcoming trainings which will begin this Sat. This means that trainings will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Reimbursements for trainings will only be made to those who are selected for the competitive team in the end. You would have to pay for your own entry for the time being, but if you make the team we will reimburse the money to you.
Good luck, and train hard. Victory comes to those who seek it.
Two Upcoming Competitions
There are 2competitions coming up these few weeks. They will be Red Point comps, as compared to the World Cup style comps that some of you have experienced. Red Point competitions rank on points. A number of routes will be set up, and each route will be rated a certain number of points based on their difficulty. Within the time period of the competition, you are free to climb any route. Your total points will be tabulated at the end of the competition.
SP Internal Competition
SP has invited us to take part in an internal competition they will be holding. It would be held on the 24th Aug (This Friday) from 5-9. This competition is free, however, there is a limit on the number of people of which we can send. If you are interested, contact. We will confirm those who are going on Wed night.
